- Log into your myGov account
- Select “Australian Taxation Office” under “Your services”
- If the ATO services is not linked to your myGov account, please make reference to the following ATO link which will help you with the process.

<Step 2: Navigate to the ATO portal>
- Once you have managed to make your way through to the ATO portal website, you would be able to check your loan balance towards the bottom of the page under “Loan accounts”.
- If you click on the “Higher education loan program (HELP)” as shown in blue, you will be taken to the full list of transactions that has been made thus far.
- If you would like to make a voluntary payment to reduce your study loan balance, you can do so by going to the “Tax” tab at the top of the page --> Accounts --> Loan accounts. Once you click on loan accounts, you would be able to see a “Voluntary repayment” button. Simply click the button and go through each of the steps as directed on your screen to make the payment.
